Denver is an excellent starting point for visitors to Rocky Mountain National Park; for a mountain experience, spend a day driving along the Mount Evans Scenic Byway or hiking around Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre.
But you’ll also want to make time for the best of what the Mile High City has to offer: The Colorado State Capitol, the Denver Botanic Gardens, as well as museums, galleries, and restaurants, are all must-sees in Denver.

Visit Denver this Summer:
1. DENVER MUSEUM OF NATURE AND SCIENCE
One of the fun things to do in Denver with kids that parents will enjoy is the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. There are both permanent and rotating exhibits, making each visit to the museum a new adventure. The Space Odyssey exhibit is an excellent place to learn about the stars, our galaxy, the moon, and other celestial bodies. Throughout the exhibit, there are many hands-on learning opportunities. The Sensory Spacewalk is a new fantasy spaceship with over 11,000 stars that will transport you to space. In the launch simulator, you can also drive a rover on the surface of Mars and feel the rumble of a rocket launch.

2. ARCHERY GAMES DENVER
We weren’t able to try it out because it’s geared toward kids a little older than Rowen and Raven, but it’s definitely a venue we’ll visit on a future trip. Archery Dodgeball, their main offering, combines the rules of dodgeball with bows and foam-tipped arrows and is suitable for ages 7 and up. Each session begins on the practice range, where you will be with the appropriate bow and taught how to shoot. Then you’ll enter the arena, where a referee will guide you through a series of games. Each session is 75 minutes long.
3. THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF DENVER AT MARSICO CAMPUS
One of our favorites has been the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus. It was a lot of fun to see Rowen and Raven grow in their creativity and critical thinking abilities. For the girls, each exhibit was novel and exciting. They could have spent the entire day travelling between the vet’s office, the bubble room, and the grocery store. It is a room filled with various methods for forming bubbles into various shapes and sizes and testing their flexibility.
The land of Denver is so beautiful for your vacation so book a flight to Denver and enjoy your days in Denver.
4. ELITCH GARDENS THEME & WATER PARK
If you’re in Denver from May to October, Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park is one of the most attractions. Fright Fest is a Halloween-themed event that takes place in October. Visit Kiddieland if you’re visiting with younger children. There are also many exhilarating roller coasters.
5. DOWNTOWN AQUARIUM
No matter how many aquariums we’ve visited, my kids still enjoy seeing all the different sea life on display. The Denver Aquarium has over a million gallons of tank space and is home to a wide range of aquatic life, from Colorado-specific fish to sharks. Keep an eye out for the North American river otters, which are fascinating to observe.
